Episode 9: From Streets to Self-Worth

“I’d been seen. I’d been heard. I’d been believed. I wanted different.” In episode nine you’ll meet Col, whose story and interview explores the transformative power a simple act of kindness was in her recovery from street homelessness, addiction and sex work. Col is one of the most warm, interesting, and intelligent women we’ve met – and are thrilled to be able to share her story with you.

Col’s story was originally recorded for 'Random Objects of Kindness', an exhibition created by Heard Storytelling, in collaboration with Manchester Arndale and Real Change Manchester. Its aim was to increase understanding of the different factors contributing to homelessness and to highlight the importance of community support.

We met Col through MASH (Manchester Action on Street) who provide good health, safety and emotional wellbeing to women who sex work.
